Ohio Wesleyan 18, Wabash 6 (4/7/2002) Senior first baseman Drew Caravella (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) and sophomore third baseman Tyler Mott (Grove City) drove in first-inning runs to start the Bishops on the way to a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division win over Wabash on Sunday at Littick Field. The Bishops jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, then added 3 more in the second with a 2-run single by senior outfielder Shaun Rice (Dublin/Columbus Watterson) and an RBI single by sophomore second baseman Mike Albert (Shelby) the key hits. Ohio Wesleyan hiked its lead to 9-0 in the fifth on RBIs by junior shortstop Joe Deck (Waverly), senior outfielder Michael Hershberger (Massillon/Canton Central Catholic) and junior outfielder Joe Loudenslager (Hilliard/Darby). Wabash closed to within 9-3 as Danny Schubert, Jake Martin and Jake Knott each drove in runs in the seventh, but the Bishops came back with 5 runs in the bottom of the inning to break the game open. Loudenslager lined a 2-run single and junior second baseman Shaun Burchett (Plain City/Jonathan Alder) followed with a 3-run homer. Loudenslager went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI on the day, while Albert also went 3-for-4 and Deck was 2-for-3. Sophomore righthander Tyler Mott (Grove City) worked the first 7.0 innings, striking out 5 and walking none, to record the mound decision. Back
