Ohio Wesleyan 2, Oberlin 1 (9/26/2001) Sophomore forward Lindsey Groves (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) scored her first collegiate goal with 6:33 left in the first overtime to give Ohio Wesleyan a win over Oberlin in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday at the Henry Street Field. The Bishops peppered Oberlin keeper Ilana Turoff with a flurry of shots just before the game-winner. Senior forward Kristin Beveridge (Hudson) had a hard shot blocked by Turoff, and the Yeowomen netminder also turned away a shot by junior midfielder Danielle Stilson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron). The Bishops got the ball back into the circle, and Stilson fired a shot from the right side which Turoff saved, but the rebound went right to Groves, who knocked the ball into the Oberlin cage. Oberlin took a 1-0 lead late in the first half on a goal by Emily Johnson, the NCAC's leading scorer. Chaney Stewman was credited with an assist on the play. Senior midfielder Lianne Preville (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) scored her first goal of the season to even the game at 1-1 with 27:30 left in regulation time. Oberlin had the first good scoring chance in overtime, keeping the pressure on the Bishop goal, but a pair of shots by Stewman were wide of the mark. Senior Jody Dickinson (Dublin/Coffman) finished with 9 saves in the Bishop cage. Pamela Walker had 2 saves in the first half and Turoff finished with 6 saves for Oberlin. Back
