Wittenberg 3, Ohio Wesleyan 1 (10/11/2001)

Amy Burlingame scored 2 goals and set up a third to lead Wittenberg past Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Thursday in Springfield, Ohio.

Burlingame scored off a corner play with assists from Jill Hobelman and Jessica Martin less than 3 minutes into the game as the Tigers took a 1-0 lead and added a goal off a feed from Rebecca Russ with 9:39 left in the first half.

Ohio Wesleyan closed to within 2-1 when senior forward Kristin Beveridge (Hudson) scored off an assist from freshman forward Meredith Bynum (Winston-Salem, N.C./Forsyth Country Day) with 6:24 left in the first half.

Wittenberg closed out the scoring late in the second half when Burlingame set up Cara Romanowski on a goal with 10:00 to play.

Bishop goalkeeper Jody Dickinson (Dublin/Coffman) stopped 7 shots. Georgie Klinzing had 2 saves for Wittenberg. The Tigers outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 30-7.
