Denison 2, Ohio Wesleyan 0 (10/28/2001)

Denison took the lead with a goal by Laura Slabaugh less than 10 minutes into the second half and iced the game with an empty-net goal by Courtney Cordiero in the closing moments to defeat Ohio Wesleyan in action at the Midwest Regional tournament on Sunday at Kenyon College in Gambier.

Ohio Wesleyan missed a chance to take the lead late in the first half. Freshman defender Tara Greenwood (Lebanon, N.H./Stoneleigh-Burnham) was awarded a penalty stroke, but her try hit the post and was cleared.

Senior goalkeeper Jody Dickinson (Dublin/Coffman) stopped 12 shots in the Bishop cage.
