Eighth place at Tom O'Briant Memorial (10/1 and 10/2/2001)

Junior Jeremy Meade (Wayland, Mass.) led the Bishops to an eighth-place finish at the Tom O'Briant Memorial tournament held on Monday and Tuesday at the Cardinal Golf and Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Guilford College was the tournament's host.

Duke won team honors with a 582, edging Oglethorpe's 585 and Guilford's 588. Savannah College of Art and Design placed fourth at 591, followed by Methodist at 592 and Greensboro at 596. Averett was seventh with a 604 and Ohio Wesleyan placed eighth at 613, followed by Washington & Lee (616), Christopher Newport (618), College of New Jersey (622), Emory (629), Lynchburg (637), Hampden-Sydney (641), Randolph-Macon (642), Western Maryland (648), Bridgewater (661) and Ferrum (683).

Meade tied for 21st place among individuals with a 150. Sophomore Adam Pry (Bucyrus/Shelby) tied for 34th place with a 153, sophomore Chad Poling (Delaware/Hayes) tied for 41st place at 155, junior Jonathan Wilson (Dayton/Vandalia-Butler) tied for 49th place with a 157, senior Jason Job (Akron/Revere) tied for 53rd place at 158 and junior Jay Tilton (Cincinnati/Windon Woods) finished 60th with a 159.
