Ohio Wesleyan 75, Denison 51 (1/9/2002) Junior guard Jason Dopoulos (Strongsville) hit consecutive baskets to fuel a 14-4 run late in the first half as the Bishops defeated Denison in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at Branch Rickey Arena. Sophomore center Travis Schwab (Medina) scored twice during a 10-0 run that threatened to break the game open early. Ohio Wesleyan led, 15-4, with 11:49 left in the first half after that burst. Denison came back with a run of its own, closing to within 19-18 on Brad Swickrath's 3-pointer with 4:56 left in the half, but freshman forward Seth Rhea (Delaware/Hayes) and freshman forward Brandon Cole (Sidney) scored back-to-back buckets to start the Bishops' half-ending burst. Ohio Wesleyan led, 33-22, at halftime as junior guard Kyle Comstock (Sunbury/Buckeye Valley) closed out the scoring with a 3-pointer from the corner. The Big Red cut the deficit to 9 points when Perry Young hit a hook shot from the lane to open the second half scoring, but Ohio Wesleyan went on a 13-2 tear to increase the lead to 20 points. Dopoulos led the Bishops with 17 points, Rhea finished with 14 points, Schwab finished with 12 points and Cole scored 10 points and led the Bishops with 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Shawn Kindred (Delaware/Hayes) led the Bishops with 6 assists. Alan Bradshaw was Denison's leading scorer with 10 points. Back
