Ohio Wesleyan 85, Oberlin 49 (1/12/2002)

Freshman forward Seth Rhea (Delaware/Hayes) scored 7 points during a 9-2 game-opening run and Ohio Wesleyan went on to defeat Oberlin in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday in Oberlin.

Oberlin hung in and trailed by a score of 20-12 late in the first half before the Bishops closed with a run capped by a 3-pointer by sophomore guard Shawn Kindred (Delaware/Hayes) that gave Ohio Wesleyan a 36-20 lead in the final minute of the half.

Rhea led the Bishops with 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while sophomore center Travis Schwab (Medina) scored 12 points. Kindred finished with 10 points and a team-high 7 assists. Freshman forward Brandon Cole (Sidney), sophomore forward John McLarnan (Mount Vernon) and freshman center Brandon Reid (Cincinnati/Purcell Marian) shared the team lead with 7 rebounds apiece.

Julius Hll led Oberlin with 11 points.
