Ohio Northern 64, Ohio Wesleyan 47 (11/17/2001)

Sophomore center Travis Schwab (Medina) scored 15 points in the first half as the Bishops trailed, 40-36, at halftime, but Ohio Northern scored the first 19 points of the second half to break the game open in the first round of the Chicago Midway Classic on Saturday at Chicago.

The Polar Bears led by as many as 9 points in the first half only to see Ohio Wesleyan claw back to within 1 on a 3-pointer by sophomore guard Shawn Kindred (Delaware/Hayes) with 2:00 to play. Ohio Northern answered with a 3-pointer by Lee Creager and that would end up as the margin at the intermission.

Ohio Wesleyan missed its first 9 shots of the second half, finally getting on the scoreboard on a pair of free throws by Schwab, but by that time, Ohio Northern held a commanding 53-38 lead.

Schwab led the Bishops with 17 points, while added 10 points and sophomore center Charlie Smith (Centerburg) scored 10 points and led the Bishops with 8 rebounds.
