Ohio Wesleyan 93, Adrian 74 (11/20/2001) Freshman forward Brandon Cole (Sidney) and freshman forward Seth Rhea (Delaware/Hayes) scored 5 points apiece and sophomore guard Shawn Kindred (Delaware/Hayes) and sophomore center Travis Schwab each had 4 points during a 21-8 second-half run that broke open a non-conference win over Adrian on Tuesday at Branch Rickey Arena. The game opened with a back-and-forth first half that saw 9 lead changes before Schwab put the Bishops ahead to stay with a jumper with 9:10 remaining. Adrian kept close, however, getting a pair of buckets from Chris Howard to trail 34-27 at halftime. Ohio Wesleyan threatened to run away with the game from the beginning of the second half. Cole opened the second half with a lay-in, and junior guard Jason Dopoulos (Strongsville) followed with a 3-pointer in the first 35 seconds of the period, boosting the Bishop lead to 39-27. Adrian stayed close with a pair of 3-pointers by Brian Schaefer, the second of which brought the Bulldogs within 42-35 with 15:05 to play. But Adrian cooled off from the field, getting only a pair of 3-pointers by Steve Brooks during the next 4-plus minutes as the Bishops built their lead to 63-43 with 10:26 to play. From that point on, the Bulldogs did not score consecutive baskets until back-to-back 3-pointers by Dan Walter and Brooks closed the margin to 80-63 with 3:50 remaining. Cole scored 17 points to lead a parade of 6 Bishop players in double figures. Rhea finished with 15 points, Kindred and Dopoulos each scored 12 and sophomore center Charlie Smith (Centerburg) and Schwab each added 10 points. Cole grabbed a team-leading 13 boards and Dopoulos led the Bishops with 7 assists. Walter led Adrian with 20 points, while Schaefer ended up with 16 and Brooks with 15. Back
