8th of 12 at Wilmington (9/15/2001) Freshman Mike Synk (Strongsville) led the Bishops at the Wilmington Invitational on Saturday at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio. Rio Grande won the meet with 69 points to 80 for runner-up Northern Kentucky. Otterbein was third with 87 points and Ohio Northern placed fourth with 126 points. Denison (141), Tiffin (148), Wilmington (162), Ohio Wesleyan (186), Muskingum (197), Defiance (257), Bluffton (314) and Columbus State (314) completed the team scores. Synk finished 20th in 27:25. Freshman Paul Loehle (Fairfield/Hamilton Badin) placed 38th in 28:08, freshman Bill Bedford (Strongsville/Strongsville) followed in 39th place in 28:11, junior Andrew Roynestad (Gaithersburg, Md.) was 52nd in 28:31 and freshman Christopher Monaco (Mayfield Heights/University) completed the Bishop scoring with a 56th-place finish in 28:39.
