7th of 10 at NCAC Championship (10/27/2001) Freshman Mike Synk (Strongsville) led the Bishops at the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet on Saturday at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind. Kenyon won the meet, sweeping the first 4 places and finishing with 28 points to 84 for runner-up Wooster. Wabash placed third with 85 points and Allegheny was fourth with 110 points, followed by Oberlin (113), Denison (146), Ohio Wesleyan (192), Wittenberg (208), Earlham (217) and Hiram (224). Synk finished 30th among individuals in 28:28.67. Freshman Paul Loehle (Fairfield/Hamilton Badin) was 37th in 28:48.56, freshman Tom Woodcock (Louisville, Ky./St. Francis) finished 39th in 28:53.45, freshman Bill Bedford (Strongsville) placed 41st in 28:56.54 and junior Matt Mead (Dunkirk, N.Y./Fredonia Central) completed the Bishop scoring with a 46th-place finish in 29:03.60.
