Wheaton 64, Ohio Wesleyan 47 (11/17/2001) Wheaton College broke open a close game with a 12-3 burst in the second half and held off an Ohio Wesleyan comeback in defeating the Bishops in second-round play of the Hope Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday in Holland, Mich. Sophomore post Tiffany Barbee (Detroit, Mich./Cass Technical) hit a free throw to bring the Bishops within 41-36 with 10:40 left in the game, but Ohio Wesleyan missed its next 5 shots from the field as the Thunder outscored the Bishops, 7-1. Freshman wing Kelly Heil (Sylvania/Southview) ended the drought with a bucket with 5:23 to play, but Wheaton responded with a 3-pointer by Stacie Clark and a pair of free throws by Becky Moo to pad the lead to 53-39 with 3:56 left in the game. Heil sparked a Bishop rally, drilling a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws as the Bishops came back to within 55-45 with 2:04 to play, but the Thunder sealed the game at the free throw line, going 9-for-11 in the final 1:28. Heil led the Bishops with 17 points and 7 rebounds, while senior guard Talia Brader (Westerville/Columbus DeSales) followed with 11 points, grabbed a career-high 6 rebounds and dished out a team-leading 6 assists. Sophomore wing Becky Roeder (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) also snared 6 rebounds. Back
