Centre outscored the Bishops on penalty flicks to take a win in the first round of the NCAC/KIT Invitational on Saturday at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.

After the teams played scoreless hockey through regulation time and a pair of overtime periods, it was up to a series of penalty strokes to determine a winner. Centre took the lead by converting its first flick, but the Bishops evened matters when sophomore back Tara Greenwood (Lebanon, N.H./Stoneleigh-Burnham) connected on the Bishops' second attempt.

The teams remained tied at 1-1 until Centre scored on its fifth try to take the win.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot the Colonels, 9-5. Sophomore Liz Stone (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional) had 3 saves in the first half and the overtime periods. Freshman Tonya Bickel (Dublin/Scioto) was not tested in the second half.
