Sophomore forward Ann Capute (Easton, Md.) had a goal and an assist to lead the Bishops to a non-conference win over Washington & Jefferson in Ohio Wesleyan's home opener on Saturday at the Henry Street Field.

Capute put the Bishops ahead to stay with an unassisted goal with 5:15 left in the first half.

Freshman forward Natalie Pearson (Greenwich, Conn.) made it 2-0 early in the second half, scoring off an assist from freshman forward Mallory Anderson (Lake George, N.Y.). Capute then set up sophomore midfielder Meredith Bynum (Winston-Salem, N.C./Forsyth Country Day) midway through the second half and, 2 minutes later, senior forward Kim Dubovec (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) made it 4-0 with an unassisted goal. Freshman forward Lauren Preidis (Pataskala/Bishop Hartley) wrapped up the Bishop scoring with a goal courtesy of an assist by senior midfielder Danielle Stilson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron).

Ohio Wesleyan outshot the Presidents, 33-1. Sophomore Liz Stone (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional) stopped the only Washington & Jefferson shot she saw in compiling her first shutout of the season.
