Oct. 8, 2002
Rebecca
Aldred scored early in the first half and Earlham's defense made the lead
stand as the Quakers nipped Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference
play on Tuesday at the Henry Street Field.
The Quakers got on the scoreboard with 28:42 left in the first half. After
Earlham received a penalty corner, Kailynn Kitaji sent a crossing pass
to Aldred, whose shot got past sophomore goalkeeper Liz Stone (Deep River,
Conn./Valley Regional).
The rest of the game was an exhibition of stingy defense by both sides.
Ohio Wesleyan allowed the Quakers only 8 shots and 4 penalty corners,
while the Bishops collected 5 shots and 9 penalty corners.
Stone finished with 7 saves for Ohio Wesleyan. Catherine Chow had 3 saves
in the Earlham cage.
