4th of 19 at Golden Isles Collegiate Invitational

Junior Chad Poling (Delaware/Hayes) led the Bishops during the third and final day of competition at the Golden Isles Collegiate Invitational on Sunday in Jekyll Island, Ga.

Averett won the team title in a playoff, defeating Methodist after both finished at 871. Oglethorpe finished in third place at 879, with Ohio Wesleyan in fourth place at 897. Greensboro was fifth with an 899, followed by Christopher Newport (902), Skidmore (915), Emory (918), University of the South (919), Washington & Lee (922), Otterbein (930), Roanoke (931), New York University and Savannah College of Art & Design (933), Wesley (935), Nebraska Wesleyan (944), Ferrum (964), McDaniel (965) and Millsaps (977).

Poling finished in a fifth-place tie at 219 after shooting his third consecutive round of 73. Senior Jeremy Meade (Wayland, Mass.) tied for 15th place at 224, senior Jay Tilton (Cincinnati/Winton Woods) finished in a tie for 21st place with a 226, freshman Justin Schroeder (Shelby) tied for 25th place at 228 and junior Adam Pry (Bucyrus/Shelby) tied for 83rd place with a 245.
