7th of 12 at John Piper Intercollegiate

Junior Chad Poling (Delaware/Hayes) led the Bishops at the John Piper Intercollegiate tournament hosted by Bowling Green State University on Monday and Tuesday at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green.

Eastern Michigan won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 857, edging runner-up Wright State by 5 shots. Cleveland State was third at 877, followed by Dayton (889), Marquette and Bowling Green (890), Ohio Wesleyan (892), Oakland (896), Wisconsin-Green Bay (900), Detroit Mercy (908), St. Bonaventure (925) and Youngstown State (943).

Poling finished in a tie for third place at 213, 3 strokes behind medalist John Schones of Wright State. Senior Jay Tilton (Cincinnati/Winton Woods) and freshman Justin Schroeder (Shelby) tied for 25th place at 224, sophomore Brandon Bytnar (Monclova/Anthony Wayne) tied for 50th place at 234 and sophomore Kevin Alberty (Strongsville) completed the Bishop scoring with a tie for 58th place at 245.
