Bishops' Schwab Scores
1000th Career Point

DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University junior center Travis Schwab scored his 1000th career point in Saturday's 76-64 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Hiram.

Schwab's milestone came on a lay-in with 6:15 left in the first half. The basket broke a 17-17 tie and put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay.

A 3-year starter at center for the Battling Bishops, Schwab becomes the 22nd Ohio Wesleyan male to surpass the 1000-point mark. The last Bishop to reach that figure was J.R. Shumate during the 1995-96 season.

Schwab's career total of 1017 points is tied for 21st place on the all-time Ohio Wesleyan list. He shares that spot with Mark Slayman (1986-90).

Ohio Wesleyan (3-1, 1-0 NCAC) opens its home schedule on Thursday, when the Bishops host Ohio Dominican at 7:30 p.m. at Branch Rickey Arena.
