Senior
righthander Tyler Mott (Grove City) scattered 6 hits over 6.0 innings
of work and helped his own cause with a 2-run double as the Bishops defeated
Concordia (Ill.) on Saturday in Fort Myers, Fla.
The win was the 600th career win for Ohio Wesleyan coach Roger Ingles.
He is the 14th active Division III coach to reach that mark, according
to NCAA records. Ingles has a 600-294-8 record in 21 seasons at Ohio Wesleyan.
Mott opened the scoring with a 2-run double in the third, and the Bishops
scored 4 times in the sixth inning to blow the game open. Freshman first
baseman Tom Bottochio (Mason) had 3 hits and scored 3 runs. Sophomore
outfielder Adam Toney (Galloway/Westland) went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and
freshman third baseman Kyle Sherman (Plain City/Dublin Scioto) added 2
hits.
Mott earned the win, giving up 6 hits and an earned run while striking
out 5 and walking 1 in 6.0 innings of work.
