Senior first baseman Tyler Mott (Grove City) and senior second baseman Brad Whitman (Canfield) belted RBI triples and senior righthander Shaun Burchett (Plain City/Jonathan Alder) pitched 7.0 innings of shutout baseball to lift Ohio Wesleyan over Lakeland on Sunday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Mott's RBI triple in the first inning put the Bishops on the scoreboard, and Whitman followed suit in the sixth, delivering an RBI triple to plate an insurance run.

Whitman finished with 2 hits and senior outfielder Mike Albert (Shelby) went 3-for-3 and scored a run.

Burchett gave up 3 hits and struck out 4 while walking 3 in 7.0 innings. Senior righthander Andy Busch (Westerville/South) pitched the ninth to pick up his first save of the season.
