Penn State-Altoona 4, Ohio Wesleyan 2

Jeff Thompson lined a bases-loaded triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Penn State-Altoona over Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

The Bishops scored in the fourth on an RBI single by sophomore shortstop Brandon Williams (Dublin/Coffman) and held a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the sixth.

The Lions loaded the bases with 2 outs on a pair of walks and an error before Thompson cleared the bases with a triple to the wall.

Senior designated hitter Andy Busch (Westerville/South) had 2 hits to highlight the Bishop offense.

Senior righthander Byron Lowe (Medford, Mass./Cambridge Ridge) pitched the first 3.0 innings, allowing 2 hits and an earned run while walking 4 and striking out none. Sophomore righthander Billy Kampmann (Blairstown, N.J./Blair Academy) pitched the last 3.0 innings, allowing 2 hits and no earned runs while walking 2 and striking out none. Kampmann was charged with the loss.
