attacker Natalie Pearson (Harrison, N.Y./Greenwich (Conn.)) scored twice
to give the Bishops a lead, but Earlham got goals from Logan Fitzpatrick
to send the game into overtime and then end the game as the Quakers nipped
Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Thursday in
Richmond, Ind.
Pearson scored an unassisted goal just over 5 minutes into the game, giving
Ohio Wesleyan a 1-0 lead. After Earlham's Susanna Curry tied the game
with 20:48 left in the first half, Pearson added another unassisted goal
to give the Bishops a 2-1 lead with 7:50 left in the first half.
Fitzpatrick tied the game at 2-2 with a goal off a penalty corner with
10:12 left in regulation time. Rebecca Aldred was credited with an assist
on the play. Fitzpatrick then scored the game-winner with 10:55 left in
the first overtime period, converting a feed from Julie Vadurro.
Junior Liz Stone (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional) was credited with
4 saves in the Ohio Wesleyan cage.
Earlham's
Catherine Chow was credited with 9 saves.
