Sivon scored 3 second-half goals as Kenyon broke a 1-1 halftime tie and
went on to defeat Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference action
on Thursday in Gambier.
Ohio
Wesleyan had taken a 1-0 lead on a goal by freshman midfielder Carly Vieira
(Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) with 22:09 left in the first half.
It was Vieira's first collegiate goal.
Kenyon answered less than a minute later, getting an unassisted goal from
Maggie Hill to tie the game with 21:26 to play in the first half.
Sivon gave the Ladies the lead with 19:39 remaining in regulation time,
scoring off an assist from Molly Mickinak. Just over 2 minutes later,
Sivon scored an unassisted goal for a 3-1 Kenyon lead.
The Ladies added to the lead with a penalty stroke by Tai Chiappa with
7:27 remaining before Sivon completed the hat trick with a goal with 5:04
remaining.
Sophomore attacker Natalie Pearson (Harrison, N.Y./Greenwich (Conn.))
wrapped up the scoring with a goal with 3:27 to play. Sophomore midfielder
Lauren Preidis (Pataskala/Bishop Hartley) was credited with an assist
on the play.
Kenyon outshot the Bishops, 26-7. Junior Liz Stone (Deep River, Conn./Valley
Regional) had 14 saves in the Ohio Wesleyan cage.
Tamar Chalker had 7 saves for Kenyon.
