Ohio Wesleyan 4, Transylvania 1

Sophomore attacker Natalie Pearson (Harrison, N.Y./Greenwich (Conn.)) scored twice to help Ohio Wesleyan defeat Transylvania in non-conference play on Sunday at the Henry Street Field.

Pearson broke a scoreless tie with an unassisted goal with 10:01 left in the first half.

Ohio Wesleyan added to the lead early in the second half when freshman midfielder Carly Vieira (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) rang up an unassisted goal just 1:38 into the period.

Pearson followed with her second goal of the game, making the score 3-0 with 28:01 left in regulation time.

Freshman attacker Abbey Kelley (West Bloomfield, Mich./Mercy) wrapped up the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a goal with 25:17 left in the game. Sophomore attacker Taneen Legree (Christiana, Pa./Octorara) was credited with an assist on the play.

Transylvania averted the shutout when Deanna Cundiff knocked home a loose ball from directly in front of the Ohio Wesleyan cage with 1:05 remaining.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Transylvania, 31-4. Junior Liz Stone (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional) had 1 save in the Ohio Wesleyan cage. Taylor McGinnis had 17 saves for the Pioneers.
