Kenyon 3, Ohio Wesleyan 2

Elizabeth Aragona's goal with 2:53 left in regulation time proved to be the game-winner as Kenyon held on to take a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday at the Henry Street Field.

The Bishops took the lead first. On a free hit, sophomore midfielder Jori Bos (Columbus/Chapel Hill (N.C.)) sent the ball into the circle, and sophomore attacker Taneen Legree (Christiana, Pa./Octorara) turned and fired a shot from the left side past Kenyon keeper Tamar Chalker with 21:48 left in the first half.

Ohio Wesleyan's lead was short-lived, though. The Ladies tied the game less than 3 minutes later when Anne Huntoon knocked a rebound into the Ohio Wesleyan cage. Huntoon had started the flurry with a shot from traffic in front of the cage, but her shot was blocked. Kenyon forward Sarah Pfeifer followed with a shot but was denied by junior Liz Stone (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional). Huntoon pounced on that rebound and hit the shot to tie the game with 19:16 left in the first half.

Kenyon took the lead less than 3 minutes later. After a Kenyon corner, Maggie Rosen passed the ball to Pfeifer, whose shot hit the back of the cage with 16:37 to play in the first half.

Aragona hiked the Kenyon lead to 3-1 with a shot from the right side across to the left.

Ohio Wesleyan closed to within 3-2 in the final minute of play, with sophomore attacker Natalie Pearson (Harrison, NY/Greenwich (CT)) ringing up an unassisted goal with :41 to play, but the Bishops did not get a shot at the tying goal.

Kenyon outshot the Bishops, 9-4. Stone finished with 5 saves in the Ohio Wesleyan cage. Chalker finished with 1 save for Kenyon.
