5th of 7 at Smee Builders Invite

March 8-9, 2004

Senior Chad Poling (Delaware/Hayes) led the Bishops at the Smee Builders Invite hosted by Point Loma Nazarene University on Monday and Tuesday at Steele Canyon Golf Club in Jamul, Calif.

Master's College won the tournament with an 882, defeating host Point Loma Nazarene by 4 strokes. Cal State-Monterey Bay finished in third place at 896, followed by Holy Names (897), Ohio Wesleyan (915), Spring Arbor (943) and Cal State-Hayward (964).

Poling tied for sixth place among individuals with a total of 223. Sophomore Justin Schroeder (Shelby) finished in a tie for 21st place at 229, sophomore Doug McCullough (Sleepy Hollow, Ill./St. Edward) carded a 234 to tie for 27th place, senior Adam Pry (Bucyrus/Shelby) placed 29th with a 235 and junior Brandon Bytnar (Monclova/Anthony Wayne) completed the Bishop scoring with a 245, tying for 35th place.

Ryan Higton of Master's won medalist honors in a playoff, defeating Ethan Potts of Point Loma Nazarene after both finished at 216.
