1st of 5 at LaVerne Invitational

Senior Adam Pry (Bucyrus/Shelby) won medalist honors to lead the Bishops at the LaVerne Invitational on Thursday at the PGA Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif.

Ohio Wesleyan won the tournament with a 623, edging Nebraska Wesleyan by 3 shots. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was third with a 637, followed by St. John's (Minn.) at 642 and LaVerne with a 645.

Pry shot a 151 to finish 2 shots ahead of runner-up Joe Skovron of LaVerne. Senior Chad Poling (Delaware/Hayes) finished in a tie for fourth place at 155, sophomore Doug McCullough (Sleepy Hollow, Ill./St. Edward) tied for 10th place with a 158, sophomore Justin Schroeder (Shelby) finished in a tie for 12th place at 159 and senior Joe Loudenslager (Hilliard/Darby) completed the Bishop scoring with a 168, good for a tie for 26th place.
