4th of 24 at Golden Isles Collegiate Invitational

Senior Chad Poling (Delaware/Hayes) led the Bishops at the Golden Isles Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Oglethorpe University on Friday through Sunday at the Oleander Course in Jekyll Island, Ga.

Methodist won the tournament with an 882, defeating Greensboro and host Oglethorpe by 15 shots. Ohio Wesleyan finished in fourth place at 900, followed by Texas Lutheran (913), LaGrange (914), Emory (918), Illinois Wesleyan (919) and University of the South (920). Christopher Newport rounded out the top 10 with a 922, followed by Skidmore (932), McDaniel (934), Bridgewater (935), Otterbein (937), Washington & Lee (947), Randolph-Macon (951), Ferrum (961), Roanoke (967), St. Lawrence (969), Millsaps (971), Hampden-Sydney (977), Piedmont (994), Chowan (1002) and St. John Fisher (1008).

Poling finished third among individuals with a one-under-par total of 215. Sophomore Doug McCullough (Sleepy Hollow, Ill./St. Edward) tied for 11th place with a 225, sophomore Justin Schroeder (Shelby) finished in a tie for 22nd place at 228, senior Adam Pry (Bucyrus/Shelby) tied for 40th place with a 233 and junior Brandon Bytnar (Monclova/Anthony Wayne) completed the Bishop scoring with a 239, tying for 69th place.

James Stewart of Methodist won medalist honors with a 211.
