Sophomore wing Andy Warnock (Delaware/Hayes) added a 3-pointer with 2:16 left, but Wittenberg scored the game's final 7 points.

Ohio Wesleyan had jumped to an early lead, scoring the first 7 points of the game on a Schwab jumper, a Warnock 3-pointer and a basket by sophomore guard Ross Rybarczyk (Oberlin/Elyria Catholic).

Wittenberg got on the scoreboard on Danny Brywczynski's 3-pointer with 15:06 left in the first half, but the Bishops rallied to take an 18-10 lead on 3-pointers by freshman post Ben Chojnacki (Medina) and Warnock.

Bucheit sank a pair of 3-pointers as the Tigers came back with an 8-0 run to tie the game at 18-18. The game was tied at 27-27 before Bucheit converted a 4-point play with 1:50 left in the first half, putting Wittenberg ahead to stay on what would be the final scoring of the period.

Ohio Wesleyan trailed, 35-33, when senior post Charlie Smith (Centerburg) scored with 16:39 left in regulation time, but Wittenberg then went on a 9-1 run.

Schwab led the Bishops with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Rybarczyk and freshman wing Ted Uritus (Columbus/Watterson) shared the team lead with 4 assists apiece.

Schwab's 15 points increased his career total to 1754, moving him into third place on the all-time Ohio Wesleyan list ahead of Mark Oberholtzer, who compiled 1753 points during the 1984-88 seasons.

Bucheit led Wittenberg with 20 points, going 7-for-7 from the field, including 5-for-5 from 3-point range. Brady added 19 points and shared the team leads with 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Daniel Russ also shared the team lead with 8 boards and Rod Emmons shared the team lead with 3 assists.
