Ohio Wesleyan 77, Earlham 60

Freshman wing Ted Uritus (Columbus/Watterson) hit a pair of 3-pointers and junior wing Bryan King (Sidney) and sophomore guard Ross Rybarczyk (Oberlin/Elyria Catholic) each hit one 3-pointer to fuel a 12-0 run that sent Ohio Wesleyan on its way to a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Earlham on Saturday at Richmond, Ind.

With the score tied, 14-14, midway through the first half, King drilled a 3-pointer to put Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay. Uritus followed with a 3-pointer 30 seconds later, and after Rybarczyk hit a 3-pointer, Uritus connected again from long range to give the Bishops a 26-14 lead with 7:00 left in the first half.

Markous Jewett scored to end the Quaker drought, but Uritus answered with a 3-pointer on the Bishops' next possession. Ohio Wesleyan would lead by as many as 22 points during the first half, and the Quakers did not come closer than 12 points during the second half.

Earlham raced to an early 10-2 lead, breaking a 2-2 tie with a basket and a 3-pointer by LaRon Henry and a 3-pointer by Jermaine Crumby.

The Bishops tied the game at 10-10 on a 3-pointer by senior post Travis Schwab (Medina), a basket by senior post Charlie Smith (Centerburg) and a 3-point play by junior wing Tyler Reed (Marysville/Fairbanks). The teams traded baskets twice before Ohio Wesleyan went on its decisive run.

Smith led the Bishops with 21 points. Schwab finished with 16 points and Uritus added 15 points. Reed led the Bishops with 6 rebounds and Rybarczyk had a team-high 3 assists.

Henry led the Quakers with 19 points and 5 assists. Crumby added 13 points and a team-high 7 rebounds, and Jewett finished with 12 points.
