Denison 125, Ohio Wesleyan 57

Freshman Jacob Priest (Columbus/Walnut Ridge) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan in a dual meet against North Coast Athletic Conference rival Denison on Saturday at Pfeiffer Natatorium. Complete Results

Priest won the 1-meter diving with a score of 218.30, leading a Battling Bishop sweep of the event. Sophomore Alan Rill (Dublin/Hilliard Davidson) finished second and freshman Michael Hake (Delaware/Hayes) placed third.

Other standouts included senior Brian Sung (Torrance, Calif./Peninsula), who was second in the 200 butterfly and third in the 200 freestyle; senior David Holder (New Philadelphia), who finished second in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 400 IM; junior Matt Woyma (Cleveland/St. Ignatius), who placed second in the 1000 freestyle; junior Shannon Beis (Columbus/Upper Arlington), who finished third in the 50 freestyle and the 200 backstroke; senior Ed Burwell (Columbus), who was third in the 100 freestyle; and junior Joe Woyma (Cleveland/St. Ignatius), who finished third in the 200 breaststroke.

The Bishop 400 medley relay team of Beis, Holder, Sung and Joe Woyma combined to finish third.
