Freshman Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) led the Bishops at the Ohio State Invitational, held at the OSU Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus.

Ohio State won the meet with 19 points to 46 for runner-up Ashland. Otterbein was third with 84 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan with 106 and Capital with 155.

Kempton finished in 16th place in a time of 22:17.0. Freshman Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) followed in 25th place in 22:49.2, freshman Doug Sampson (Ridgewood, N.J.) placed 28th in 23:00.0, junior Bill Bedford (Strongsville/Strongsville) finished 31st in 23:12.3 and freshman Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 41st-place finish in 24:12.7.

Senior Michael Clinton (Troy, Mich.) followed in 42nd place in 24:19.8 and junior Josh Warner (Fremont/Ross) was 46th in 24:36.1.
