25th of 37 at All-Ohio Championship

Freshman Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) led the Bishops at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country championship meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Friday at the Methodist Theological School in Delaware. Complete Results

The Bishops' 25th-place finish was Ohio Wesleyan's best at the All-Ohio meet since 1983, when the Bishops placed 19th in a 34-team field. In 1993, Ohio Wesleyan finished 27th in a 36-team field.

Kempton finished 84th among individuals, covering the 8-kilometer course in 28:05.9. Sophomore Keith Drake (Norwich, Vt./Hanover (N.H.)) was 120th in 28:43.7, freshman Doug Sampson (Ridgewood, N.J.) finished 129th in 28:57.2, freshman Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) placed 171st in 29:41.2 and junior Bill Bedford (Strongsville) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 190th-place finish in 30:05.7.

Senior Michael Clinton (Troy, Mich.) was 203rd in 30:40.5 and freshman Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) was 213th in 31:04.5.
