5th of 10 at GLCA championship

Senior Leah Cressman (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) led the Bishops at the Great Lakes Colleges Association championship meet, held at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.

Denison won the meet with 28 points to 48 for runner-up DePauw. Hope was third with 124 points, followed by Kenyon (132), Ohio Wesleyan (150), Kalamazoo (164), Wooster (166), Albion (189), Earlham (238) and Oberlin (249). The fifth-place finish was the Bishops' best GLCA finish since 1996, when Ohio Wesleyan came in fifth in an 8-team field.

Cressman finished in 11th place among individuals in a time of 20:08. Freshman Amanda Husted (Springfield/Greenon) placed 20th in 20:28, senior Liz Tullberg (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda Chevy Chase) was 28th in 20:42, freshman Jillian Snyder (Lakewood) finished 53rd in 21:22 and freshman Laura Bange (Cincinnati/St. Ursula) completed the Bishop scoring with a 59th-place finish in 21:28.

Sophomore Meggie Feran (Kirtland) was 65th in 21:39 and freshman Wendy Farrell (Fremont/Ross) was 74th in 21:54.
