Junior third baseman Sammy Hall (North Riverside, Ill./Nazareth Academy) drove in 4 runs in the opener and freshman righthander Xander Jones (Pomfret, Conn./Pomfret School) fired a 3-hitter in the nightcap as Ohio Wesleyan swept a non-conference doubleheader from Urbana on Saturday at Littick Field.

Ohio Wesleyan took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the opener when j
unior second baseman Brandon Williams (Dublin/Coffman) reached on a fielder's choice, stole second, stole third and scored on Hall's single to center.

The Blue Knights came back to take a 2-1 lead in the second. Urbana loaded the bases with none out on infield singles by John Milliron and Josh Forsmark sandwiched around a walk to Travis Cross. Junior righthander Adam Dunn (Westerville/Worthington Christian) fanned Josh Stuntebeck for the first out, but Trent Spellman bounced into a fielder's choice, with Milliron scoring on the play. Cross then scored on a wild pitch to give Urbana the lead.

Urbana added a run in the third when Nate Boyd beat out a bunt to open the inning, took second on Dunn's wild pickoff throw and scored on Milliron's 2-out single.

The Bishops took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning when Williams led off with a single,
junior outfielder Adam Toney (Galloway/Westland) walked and Hall blasted a 3-run shot to left.

Hall and
freshman outfielder Josh Wheeler (Columbus/Dublin Scioto) had 2 hits apiece.

Dunn pitched the complete game for Ohio Wesleyan, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs while striking out 4 and walking 3.

Brandin Pressnell was the starting and losing pitcher for Urbana.

In the nightcap, the Blue Knights jumped to a quick 1-0 lead when Milliron hit a 2-out homer in the first inning.

That was it for the Urbana offense, though. Jones allowed only one runner beyond first base during the remainder of the game, that coming with 2 down in the fourth when
Jason Ferguson reached third on a dropped fly ball. Jones gave up a leadoff single to Stuntebeck in the second, but he was erased on a double play, and Boyd sliced a single down the rightfield line in the sixth but he was stranded at first.

Ohio Wesleyan tied the game in the bottom of the first.
Sophomore shortstop Kyle Sherman (Plain City/Dublin Scioto) led off with a single and Williams reached on catcher's interference. After a double steal, Toney walked to load the bases and Sherman scored on Hall's fielder's choice grounder.

The Bishops took the lead in the third when Sherman singled with one out and stole second, then took off for third and scored when Urbana catcher Darren Kipping threw wildly to third trying to get Sherman.

Ohio Wesleyan added an insurance run in the sixth when Williams reached second on a dropped fly ball and scored on Strasburg's single.

Sherman and
sophomore outfielder Sean Ring (Hilliard/Davidson) had 2 hits apiece for Ohio Wesleyan.

Jones struck out 7 and walked one in working the complete game.

Cross was the starting and losing pitcher for Urbana
