Katelin Bugler put Wooster on the scoreboard and Angela Arnold added 2 goals as Woosted defeated Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday at the Henry Street Field.

The game opened as a taut defensive battle that lasted through most of the first half before Bugler scored from a scramble in front of the Ohio Wesleyan cage to put the Fighting Scots on the scoreboard with 14:23 left in the period.

Wooster struck again 5 minutes later when Lindsay Tingley sent a pass into the circle and Katy Baron hit a shot to the right side just past the extended pad of Bishop keeper Liz Stone (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional) to make it 2-0. The Fighting Scots added another goal in the closing minutes of the half as Kelley Hubbell fired a shot at the Bishop cage that Bishop keeper Katie Jones (Pine Plains, N.Y./Stissing Mountain) stopped, but Angela Arnold was there to knock the rebound over the line for a 3-0 lead.

Ohio Wesleyan threatened early in the second half, with sophomore attacker Julie Higgins (Gladstone, N.J./Voorhees) taking a shot that Fighting Scot defender Miranda Leickley deflected away near the left post, and freshman midfielder Polly Burke (Milton, Mass.) just missing wide with a shot on the ensuing penalty corner. The Bishops threatened again when Higgins ripped another shot, but this time Hubbell was in the way to deflect the ball and preserve the shutout.

Wooster increased its lead to 4-0 when Arnold scored on another rebound, and Tingley wrapped up the day's scoring with a long run and shot in the closing minutes of the game.

Wooster outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 21-5. Stone and Jones each finished with 6 saves for the Bishops. Anne Leigh finished with 2 saves for Wooster.
