Denison 2, Ohio Wesleyan 1

Senior wing Meredith Bynum (Winston-Salem, N.C./Forsyth Country Day) scored to erase a 1-0 second-half deficit, but Denison got the game-winner in overtime to escape with a North Coast Athletic Conference win over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at the Henry Street Field.

After the teams battled through a scoreless first half, the Big Red took a 1-0 lead when Brittany Paquette scored with 21:26 left in regulation time.

Ohio Wesleyan evened the game with 12:46 left in regulation time when Bynum knocked in a rebound goal.

Denison's Jenny Lacey scored the game-winner in the first extra session, converting a pass from Karen Lancaster after more than 12 minutes of 7-on-7 play in overtime.

Denison outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 34-7. Freshman Katie Jones (Pine Plains, N.Y./Stissing Mountain) had 16 saves in the Ohio Wesleyan cage. Becca Tavares was credited with 1 save for Denison.
