Junior Justin Schroeder (Shelby) led the Bishops at the Strimer Memorial Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at Dornoch Golf Club.

Sunday's second round, scheduled for Oakhaven Golf Club, was canceled because of inclement weather.

Franklin and Otterbein finished in a first-place tie in the team standings at 321, with Franklin winning the team championship with the better fifth-man score. Denison finished in third place, 4 shots behind. Wooster was fourth at 330, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (332), Muskingum (336), Wittenberg (341), Baldwin-Wallace (343) and John Carroll (344). Wabash rounded out the top 10 with a 345, followed by Olivet (347), Hiram (350), Oberlin (377), Capital (383) and Kenyon (398). Complete Results

Schroeder finished second among individuals with a 76. Junior Doug McCullough (Sleepy Hollow, Ill./St. Edward) tied for 30th place with an 84, while freshman Rory Hotaling (Yellow Springs), junior Andrew McIlroy (Columbus/Upper Arlington) and junior Gerard Duffy (Charlotte, N.C./Canterbury (Conn.) School) finished in a tie for 44th place at 86.

Otterbein's Andy Miller led the field with a 2-over-par 74. The first round was played under a day-long drizzle with temperatures in the low 40s.

The Strimer Memorial Invitational honors the memory of coach Bob Strimer, who was involved in Ohio Wesleyan athletics for over half a century. During his tenure at Ohio Wesleyan, he served as athletics director for 22 years. He also served as head basketball coach, head golf coach, head baseball coach and was an assistant coach in football and track. After his retirement, Strimer remained active in athletics, alumni and development affairs for over 2 decades.
