Ohio Wesleyan 82, Oberlin 58

Senior guard Bryan King (Sidney) drilled a 3-pointer and a basket during a game-opening 8-0 run and Ohio Wesleyan never looked back as the Bishops defeated Oberlin in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday at Oberlin.

Sophomore post Ben Chojnacki (Medina) opened the scoring with a 3-pointer before King followed with his 5 straight points for an 8-0 Ohio Wesleyan lead. Oberlin closed to within 16-10 on Matthew Kaplan's 3-pointer with 13:03 left in the first half, but the Bishops answered with an 11-2 spurt that featured a 3-point play and a jumper by junior wing Andy Warnock (Delaware/Hayes).

The Bishops continued to pull away, stretching the lead to 53-23 at halftime and leading by as many as 42 points during the second half.

King led the Bishops with a season-high 19 points. Chojnacki finished with 17 points and led the Bishops with 8 rebounds, while sophomore wing Ted Uritus (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) added 16 points and Warnock had 12 points. Junior guard Ross Rybarczyk (Oberlin/Elyria Catholic) dished out a team-high 4 assists.

Quinton Spencer led the Yeomen with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
