Ohio Wesleyan 93, Allegheny 66

Sophomore post Ben Chojnacki (Medina) scored 3 buckets and senior guard Bryan King (Sidney) added a 3-pointer as Ohio Wesleyan opened the game with a 15-5 run and went on to defeat Allegheny in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday in Meadville, Pa.

Ohio Wesleyan went on to take a 24-11 lead on a 3-pointer by junior wing Andy Warnock (Delaware/Hayes) with 9:58 left in the first half, but the Gators scored the next 8 points to get back into the game. Ben Torsney scored with 7:10 left in the half to bring Allegheny within 24-21.

Junior guard Ross Rybarczyk (Oberlin/Elyria Catholic) answered with a 3-pointer and King, Chojnacki and freshman post Dustin Rudegeair (Yellow Springs) added baskets as the Bishops scored the next 9 points to stretch the lead to 33-21 with 4:06 left in the first half, and the lead would remain in double digits for the remainder of the game.

Chojnacki and King shared the Ohio Wesleyan lead with 20 points apiece. Chojnacki added a team-high 11 rebounds. Rudegeair added 19 points and Rybarczyk finished with 10 points and 10 assists.

Casey McCloskey led the Gators with 20 points, while Matt Majzlik added 18 points and Bill Babe had 13 points and a team-high 5 rebounds.
