at OWU Relays

Sophomore Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) and sophomore Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) led the Bishops at the inaugural OWU Relays meet on Wednesday at Dornoch Golf Club.

The meet was run in relay format. The teams were split into pairs of runners, with team members alternating 3 laps of a 1-mile loop for a total of 6 miles.

Capital and Columbus State also competed in the meet, which was not scored.

Kempton and Goehring combined to turn in the lowest time in the meet, totaling 32:48 for 6 miles. Sophomore Doug Sampson (Ridgewood, N.J.) and sophomore Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) posted the second-fastest time, finishing in 33:35, and sophomore Seth Moore (Xenia/Yellow Springs) and freshman Peter MacLeod (Hudson) placed third in 33:40.

Also competing for the Bishops were senior Josh Warner (Fremont/Ross) and freshman Phil Hardymon (Upper Arlington), who placed fourth in 36:22.
