Sophomore Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) led the Bishops at the Great Lakes Colleges Association championship meet on Saturday at Oberlin.

Albion won the meet with 45 points to 68 for Ohio Wesleyan. Denison placed third with 97 points, followed by Wabash (101), Earlham (112), Wooster (141), Oberlin (172) and Kenyon (190).

Kempton finished second among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 26:52.7. Sophomore Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) finished eighth in 27:26.0, sophomore Seth Moore (Xenia/Yellow Springs) was 17th in 28:00.8, freshman Peter MacLeod (Hudson) placed 20th in 28:10.9, and sophomore Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) completed the Bishop scoring with a 21st-place finish in 28:19.40.

Sophomore Doug Sampson (Ridgewood, N.J.) was 23rd in 28:28.9 and senior Josh Warner (Fremont/Ross) who finished 40th in 29:20.3.
