Sophomore Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) led the Bishops at the Polar Bear Invitational, hosted by Ohio Northern University on Saturday in Ada.

Allegheny won the meet with 30 points to 72 for runner-up Ohio Northern. Heidelberg placed third with 87 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (99), Kenyon (124), Oberlin (138), Wittenberg (214), Bluffton (221) and Defiance (262).

Kempton finished 11th among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 26:50.77. Sophomore Seth Moore (Xenia/Yellow Springs) placed 18th in 27:23.65, sophomore Doug Sampson (Ridgewood, N.J.) was 20th in 27:26.72, freshman Peter MacLeod (Hudson) finished 25th in 27:34.80 and sophomore Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) completed the Bishop scoring with a 31st-place finish in 27:42.44.

Sophomore Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) finished 39th in 27:54.27 and freshman Doug Herman (Bryan) finished in 44th place in 28:04.71.
