Sophomore shortstop Donnie Paul (Lewis Center/Olentangy) staked the Bishops to a 2-0 lead with a first-inning homer, but Wisconsin-Oshkosh rallied to take a 5-2 lead, then held off a Bishop threat in the top of the seventh to take the opener of a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

In the nightcap, Ohio Wesleyan overcame a 6-0 deficit to take an 11-6 lead after 4 innings, but the Titans tied the game in the fifth and pushed across 2 runs in the sixth to complete the sweep of the twinbill.

The Bishops closed to within 5-4 in the seventh inning of the opener when senior outfielder Adam Toney (Galloway/Westland) and senior third baseman Sammy Hall (North Riverside, Ill./Nazareth Academy) scored with nobody out, but the Titans were able to escape the rest of the inning unscathed.

Senior righthander Adam Dunn (Westerville/Worthington Christian) was the starting and losing pitcher for Ohio Wesleyan.

The Titans raced to a 6-0 lead after 1 1/2 frames in the nightcap, but Ohio Wesleyan tied the game with 6 runs in the bottom of the second, then got a run in the third and 4 more in the fourth.

Hall had 2 doubles and senior shortstop Brandon Williams (Dublin/Coffman) had a double and 2 RBI. Junior second baseman Kyle Sherman (Plain City/Dublin Scioto), Toney and sophomore first baseman A.J. Dote (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) had 2 hits apiece.

Sophomore righthander Xander Jones (Pomfret, Conn./Pomfret School) started for the Bishops and Paul, who relieved in the fifth inning, was charged with the loss.
