Senior outfielder Adam Toney (Galloway/Westland) collected 5 hits and senior righthander Michael Krieger (Boardman) and sophomore righthander Sean Speed (Cincinnati/St. Xavier) turned in solid pitching performances to lead Ohio Wesleyan to a doubleheader sweep of Greenville on Tuesday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Trailing, 2-1, in the opener, the Bishops erupted for 6 runs in the bottom of the second, with Toney's 3-run, inside-the-park home run highlighting the frame.

Ohio Wesleyan broke the game open with 6 runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Toney was 2-for-3 in the game, while senior shortstop Brandon Williams (Dublin/Coffman), sophomore shortstop Donnie Paul (Lewis Center/Olentangy) and freshman outfielder John Maggard (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) also had 2 hits apiece.

Krieger allowed 3 runs during the first 5.0 innings to collect the mound decision. Junior righthander Sean Ring (Hilliard/Davidson) finished up on the hill.

In the nightcap, the Bishops scored single runs in the first and second innings and added 2 more in the third in completing the sweep.

Toney was 3-for-4 and sophomore first baseman A.J. Dote (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) was 2-for-3 to highlight the Bishop offense.

Speed worked out of a bases-loaded, nobody out jam in the first inning and scattered 4 hits through the first 6.0 innings in recording the win. Ring pitched the seventh to complete the shutout.
