at Denison Cross Country Festival

Junior Matt Kempton (Fredericktown) won individual honors to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Denison Cross Country Festival on Friday in Granville. The meet, which included Ohio Wesleyan, Oberlin, Kenyon, Wooster and Denison, was not scored.

Kempton turned in the day's best time, covering the 5000-meter course in 16:42.

Freshman Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman) finished seventh in 16:55, junior Doug Sampson (Ridgewood, N.J.) was eighth in 17:04, freshman David Stefanik (Wooster) placed 10th in 17:07, junior Kevin Goehring (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) finished 11th in 17:10, junior Seth Moore (Xenia/Yellow Springs) was 12th in 17:11, and junior Will Crabtree (Winchester, Mass.) recorded an 18th-place finish in 17:25.
