Senior shortstop Linsey Longstreth (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) drove in 4 runs and senior first baseman Sarah Downs (Canton, Conn./Avon) plated 3 runs to power Ohio Wesleyan past Franklin & Marshall in non-conference play on Monday in Kissimmee, Fla.

The Bishops jumped to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on RBIs by junior outfielder Mary Beth Scherer (Toledo/St. Ursula Academy), junior second baseman Theresa Longenecker (Lynbrook, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) and Longstreth.

Downs and Scherer drove in runs in the third inning and Downs and Longstreth drove in runs in the fourth to increase the Bishop lead to 7-0.

Ohio Wesleyan broke the game open with 7 runs in the fifth inning. Longstreth plated 2 runs and Downs and junior outfielder Carli Wittman (Oak Harbor) drove in single tallies.

Junior righthander Claire Martin (Jefferson) pitched the first 4.0 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 4, to claim the win.
