Junior righthander Claire Martin (Jefferson) fired a no-hitter and senior first baseman Sarah Downs (Canton, Conn./Avon) slammed a 2-run homer as the Bishops blanked Hamilton in non-conference action on Friday in Kissimmee, Fla.

Ohio Wesleyan gave Martin all the support she would need with 3 runs in the top of the first inning. With one out, senior outfielder Britt Born (Caledonia/Marion Harding) tripled and scored on a single by senior third baseman Amy Mazur (Elyria). Downs followed with a 2-run shot that staked the Bishops to a 3-0 lead.

Sophomore outfielder Kiley King (Delaware/Olentangy) drove in an insurance run with a sixth-inning single and Born scored another run in the seventh.

Martin's gem was her second career no-hitter and the fourth in Ohio Wesleyan history. She struck out 8 and allowed only one baserunner, that on a fourth-inning walk.
