Wittenberg 5, Ohio Wesleyan 4

Senior Heidi Younker (Columbus/Dublin Coffman) and sophomore Kristen Carney (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) were double winners for Ohio Wesleyan, but Wittenberg came from behind to take the third-place match of the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday in Gambier.

Younker teamed with junior Laura Bernstein (Greenwich, Conn.) for a win at No. 1 doubles and Carney paired with sophomore Kirsten Pfund (Libertyville, Ill.) to win at No. 3 doubles as the Bishops took a 2-1 lead entering singles play.

Younker then won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and Carney posted a come-from-behind, 3-set win at No. 5 singles, but the Tigers won the other 4 flights to escape with the match.
