Ohio Wesleyan 18, Ramapo 6

Ohio Wesleyan scored 4 runs in the second, sixth, seventh and eighth innings and freshman righthander Tyler Smith (Bryan) blanked Ramapo for 6.0 innings in his first collegiate start as the Bishops defeated the Roadrunners in the opener of their spring trip on Saturday in Port Charlotte, Fla.

The Bishops raced to a 6-0 lead with 4 runs in the second and 2 more in the third, then stretched the margin to 14-0 with 4 runs in the sixth and 4 runs in the seventh.

Meanwhile, Smith limited Ramapo to 1 hit over the first 6.0 innings. Junior righthander Nick Horn (Dublin/Scioto) relieved in the seventh and junior righthander Caleb Douce (Caledonia/River Valley) came on in the ninth.
